Weather Channel visits Old Hickory Dam

OLD HICKORY, Tenn. (Feb. 27, 2019) — Weather Channel Reporter Justin Michael visited Old Hickory today for a live report on the efforts of the Corps of Engineers to manage water in the Cumberland River Basin in the wake of the wettest February on record in the region.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District increased releases at Old Hickory Dam to 102,000 cubic feet per second while Michael reported from the navigation lock wall and on top of the dam.

Here are photos of the Weather Channel’s efforts to report on how the Nashville District is supporting flood risk reduction across the basin and as a system in the lower Ohio River and Mississippi River basins.
