These are photos of the Berlin Wall Memorial taken Nov. 29, 2023, located at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. The memorial features three sections of the Berlin Wall near Check Point Charlie that were donated Sept. 10, 1990, to President Ronald Reagan by U.S. Commander Berlin, Maj. Gen. Raymond E. Haddock.

The fall of the Berlin Wall took place Nov. 9, 1989, that symbolized the figurative end of the Iron Curtain and contributed to the reunification of Germany Oct. 3, 1990, and end of the Cold War Dec. 25, 1991. The Iron Curtain was a political metaphor that described the political boundary dividing Europe into two separate areas from the end of World War II until 1991.
