When Doris Rucks commands her station at the grill in the Estes Kefauver Federal Building in Nashville, Tenn., nine floors of employees and numerous visitors enjoy sizzling service at the cafeteria.
She said it’s been a pleasure to serve up what she describes as “food for the soul and body” while on the job over the past 10 years.
“I cook it with love,” Rucks said. “I serve about 140 burgers, about 80 pieces of chicken, and eggs – maybe eight dozen per day. I don’t give anybody nothing I wouldn’t eat. That’s just the rules I live by.”
Rucks said she deals with different people every day from all walks of life, and she loves to “lighten the load,” and uplift her customers with encouragement.
