Protesters advocate against police brutality in Music City

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 21, 2014) — A half dozen protesters advocated against police brutality here today at the Estes Kefauver Federal Building in the wake of violent reaction to the shooting of Michael Brown Aug. 9 by a police officer in Ferguson, Mo.

The protest was not well attended because of a public town hall meeting held the same evening at Mt. Zion Baptist Church where Metro Police Chief Steve Anderson, police commanders from all eight precincts and several local elected officials discussed how the city would work with community leaders if a similar incident occurred in Nashville.

Below are a photos from the protest at the federal building.
